I am a little brain dead right now. It's been a busy day. Happy things from today:
1. My wonderful husband let me sleep in this morning while he fed the kids and got the house going. I was sooooo tired!
2. Richard had a friend to help in the garage today so he didn't have to work all day alone. It makes me happy when he's not having to work alone.
3. Me and the kids got to go to a housewarming for a church family this afternoon. Boy, they call it a housewarming, but it is this FAMILY that is warm!-they are the nicest people, and I am so happy that they got this big house for their big family. It was a great day. My kids played with their kids all day long. They were tired and happy when I finally packed them up to go home.
4. I found a new bakery today. I thought fresh bread would be a nice housewarming gift, so I stopped at this bakery I've been eyeing for awhile. I went in there on an empty stomach and, oh my! did that place smell good! After I made my choice the guy asked me if he could get me anything else. I said, "Well, I really want to just buy your whole store!" and the other customers started laughing, because they knew just what I meant. It was a YUMMY bakery! Their pumpkin cranberry scones are amazing....
5. I also found this house. THE house. Out in the country. No neighbors! A garden. A swingset. A yard, more yard, and another yard...get the picture? A three story, white dollhouse with a huge front porch. See, I was lost. I really had no idea where this road I was on was going. I was hoping that it would lead back to Calgary from Didsbury. And then I saw this house. I said, "I'm just gonna slow down and look..." And THEN, I saw the For Sale sign. Really? Hmmmm....I'm lost...I accidentally run into the perfect house....and it's for sale....The wheels start turning...I pulled down the long lane to look and drool. Yes, I could picture my four kids playing in that yard in wild abandon. Well, anyway, of course I'm just dreaming. We're not really going to move or buy a house anytime soon. But it was fun while it lasted. :D
6. The final reason I'm happy is because I am finally home and am going to go upstairs with my sandwich and snuggle next to my hubby who I haven't seen all this long day and I miss him. So long!

My crazy, happy family had a crazy, busy week, and when we got home tonight to our crazy, messy house....I was pooped! SO....when my husband called on his way home from work I begged him to pick up dinner. "But, please, honey, do you think we could have something besides pizza for a change?" If you know my husband's family, pizza is THE meal of choice; hence, pizza is eaten quite a lot. I thought MY family had the market on pizza: but that was before I met the Bueckerts! So, tonight, my tummy and taste buds requested something else. And, what should he bring, but Chinese takeout! Yum! It was opportune timing as well, because just this afternoon, the boys and I were having a "healthy lifestyle" conversation. On PBS Kids, they watch "Fit Kids" every day, a little five minute blurb encouraging active lifestyles. Gabriel asked me if I could be a FitKid too. I laughed and said, "How about we try to be a FitFamily?" We talked about how we should all be getting one hour of exercise every day, drinking 8 cups of water, and eating about a cup of vegetables every day; but none of us do! So we all told which vegetables we liked and didn't like. We agreed we would be willing to try new ones. And we should make a CHART! Gabriel lit up at that one. He is my CHART lover. Details, lists, charts, schedules, he loves all of this. Too bad Mommy doesn't! :{ I tried the chore chart thing for him, but I couldn't stick with it, Lol.Anyway, the healthy Chinese food with VEGGIES gave us a chance to keep our agreement, and we did, and, boy, did that food feel better than pizza. Even to my Bueckert husband! :D Well, my sweet girls just had a bath and got tucked into their beddie-byes. I went to get Jane her bottle and when I came back she was off in Dreamland, along with Grace. Now,Gabriel and James are awaiting storytime, devotions, & prayer; so I will have to sign off for now. I hope you will enjoy reading my Daily News as much as I enjoy writing it! God bless!
My afternoon at the park: Gracie losing grip at the top of the monkey bars before I can get there-"Please Lord! Catch her...thank you!"-as she catches herself(well, God does) and swings to safety; Gracie speeding down the slide at 90mph, so fast that she does a somersault off the bottom and comes up grinning-superhero Grace!; Grace hopping on the bouncy see-saw with James, who proceeds to 'power-bounce' her off the see-saw to the moon!; quiet Jane puttering around me eating my lunch, so when I take a huge swig of pop I get a whole mouthful of gravel & grass that she put down my straw when I wasn't looking; Gabriel using the jogging stroller as a go-cart down the hill at speeds I won't mention; Gabriel waiting till all his brother & sisters are lined up at the bottom of the slide and then sliding down like a banshee to dogpile them in a heap; James sweetly handing me a piece of ice in his dirty paws with the brightest smile-"Eat it, Mommy! It's weally good!"-and plopping himself in my lap. Life with my sweet babies is never, ever dull! :D

My First Post

I've always enjoyed reading other people's blogs, and have turned over in my mind several times starting one of my own. However, I am technically challenged in regard to downloading photos, which are one of the most interesting parts of a blog. But today, on a whim, I decided to give it a try. I like blogs that are updated often to keep it interesting. So I will try to update often myself and figure out how to download pictures. I don't actually have anything interesting to say right now. I'm just experimenting with setting up the blog at the moment. We'll see how this goes!
